So here it is. Finally, the first autumn-winter style post is halfway through October. Even on the day that these photos were taken it was unusually warm, I’m not complaining at all!
A visit to my favourite London Park Syon Park, I often visit here and love watching the gardens change with the seasons.
Of course, I’ve kicked off my autumn-winter style post with one of my favourite brands Brora. This fabulous plaid dress is great smartened up with a blazer and accessories or worn casually with a cosy knit over.
Bora has a lot to celebrate at the moment. A campaign with Joanna Lumley featuring designs that Dame Joanna has added her own input to, and reading about her style is interesting
“Designing for Brora was like being re-given a Damehood. I have always admired their colour wizardry and I’m thrilled. All five pieces are far lovelier than I even thought they would be.”
One of my favourite spots in Syon Park. I just had to share the indoor pond area with beautiful Waterlilys. It’s so peaceful as well.
This is a very comfortable easy-to-wear dress. I love the wide flattering, waist-cinching belt and the warm colour tones.
I’m not a huge lover of a full dark outfit as you know, but the mix of near-black navy and ember check makes way for dark accessories and a dark jacket, and I also think this colour mix will work well with tan ( my favourite autumn winter style colour) or brown too.
Shirt dresses will always be a hit in my autumn-winter style wardrobe or spring-summer for that matter
Pairing the plaid dress with a black blazer, boots and a bag elevates the dress instantly. This is what I look for when searching for new outfits. The fact that I can wear the dress smart or casual is an added bonus.
The blazer is quite boxy so I like to cinch it with a belt ( again this gives off a more elevated look)
something of utmost importance! Pockets!
I forgot to add that the dress has pockets! what is it about a dress with pockets? I prefer it too, and I know it can be a selling point to a nation of women!
If you would like to see the dress in movement, you might like to take a look at the film I published on YouTube featuring the dress, I will leave that film at the end of this post. Gushing all about why I love it so much.
Also, if you missed the post featuring my Brora favourites, click on the link and have a browse. I’m very much looking forward to wearing one of my favourite Brora dresses again. once I’ve done the wardrobe changeover.
