I think our June weather must have been one of the worst on record dressing up wearing a floaty summer number has been non-existent. We had a few good days but mostly rain. But all is not lost. I love my blazers and I managed to get more wear out of them, plus there are so many great bargains to be had on the high street.
Here’s to a warmer July and I’m praying that summer will extend its stay this year when it arrives. Here are a few outfits that I have worn of late though when the sun did shine.
Dressing in my new bougie kimono in the mornings made me feel special.
As soon as I spotted these kimonos on Instagram I knew I had to have one. Light as a feather, this would be great for a holiday in a hotter climate. I just love to wear something special in the mornings, sit in my garden and welcome the day with a couple of cups of tea.
I had a job choosing which print to have. The “Kew Gardens” print jumped out at me because of the colours. Pinks and greens. It’s so pretty. And for each one of the Kew Kimonos sold there is a small donation made to Kew Gardens for work carried out to research climate change too.
I wear a lightweight jersey nightie underneath and the warmth is perfect. This won’t be the only kimono I purchase from One Hundred Stars. I have a wish list.

A new Classic Navy dress
After a visit to Freeport shopping village and browsing in Ralph Lauren. ( I loved it all!) I’m 58 years old and just realised I have a passion for Ralph Lauren. Where have I been?! How have I missed this brand?
You can see some clips in one of my films a few items that I tried on You Know when you’re on the way home thinking ” I should have bought that” Well that happened. I started scouring everywhere at online stockists and of course The Ralph Lauren website. I bought the Navy Finnbar dress and I love it. good quality, classic, it’s a dress that’s never going to date.
I did slit the bottom of the belt and add an old cut down faux leather belt inside. This stops the belt ruching into oblivion and accentuates the waist nicely.
There’s a good sale on over at the Ralph Lauren website. I have my eye on some gorgeous trousers. They are calling me and I bet I will have purchased them before the end of today!
I was gifted a lovely bracelet from Claudia Bradby. It’s from the new Bee Collection. Look at the dainty pearl charm next to the Bee coin. It’s a really lovely piece. Read about why Claudia has designed the Bee range here.

Dressing in a summer shade.
I’ve recently been sent some items from Freemans Online by the Bonprix brand. This summer pink blazer caught my eye. I like that it’s fitted and not boxy like all the blazers in stores at the moment. This style certainly suits me better.
I wasn’t planning to go out on the day that I wore it. Pouring with rain outside I decided to go and have a browse around Ikea. What I’m getting at is that you can be home slouching in your jeans and T-shirt, add a blazer and the look is elevated instantly. I hadn’t even done my hair.
I just want to add also that the espadrilles I’m wearing from New Look are now on sale. I’ve just bought another pair for £17,99. Bargain! My collection of Espadrilles is growing. When it’s not overly hot, they go with any summer outfit.

I was still wearing boots in June!
I nearly forgot to add this one. A fun collaboration for Instagram with Cotton Traders. I was over the moon with this outfit. I love the colour of the blazer. It’s not quite cream, but not yellow. Somewhere in-between. I loved the pleated skirt that I had from Cotton Traders at Christmas, so I ordered another in a different print. It’s currently at half price too.
I have to say their T-shirts are the best quality I’ve ever had. A little more pricey than normal but worth it. I recommend. At least I got a little more wear out of my bargain find Chloe boots! I’ve featured them here a few times already.

Congrats on the magazine feature! That is AWESOME! I really love each and everyone of these outfits. That kimono is so gorgeous. That navy dress shows how beautiful a dress in a simple one color can be so stunning!

That navy dress is stunning. I do miss being able to pop out to the designer stores and take a look at the latest fashions. Bet you haven’t worn your boots or a jacket this week.
Thanks for sharing with #pocolo and hope to see you back again soon

Haha! No Suzanne. No boots or jacket. In fact as little as possible! xx
Let’s hope the weather’s about to change! Thanks for sharing with #PoColo
So awesome that your photo was featured in Woman & Home! I love that new kimono. I would have the same problem choosing a print. There are some really gorgeous kimonos available on Amazon. I like to wear them for lounging around the house, too. They make me feel prettier! Thanks for linking with me!

Thanks Jacqui. Yes. Cotton Traders is a favourite brand. Good quality xx
that kimono is lovely on you! I love kimonos in summer 🙂 And that navy dress is such a classic, it looks great on you!
Hope you get some warmer summer weather soon – but jeans and a blazer will always work for cooler days!
Hope you are having a good week 🙂

Thanks Mica. The one good thing about the cooler weather is getting more wear out of those blazers! xx
I’m sorry the weather has been so awful, Laurie. It’s been weird for Portugal too. Days are hot now but evenings and morning are still quite chilly. It’s really unusual for this time of year. But I’ve heard that this weekend, temperatures are going to be in the mid-30s. Eeeeek! I hate it when it’s too hot!!
Love all your outfits, especially the kimono. It certainly looks special!

Congratulations on the feature in the magazine!! That is amazing. I’m hating this,, summer,, weather. We had a awfull spring and now this. Almost no sun at all! Pfff. I am wearing blazers more and more. They do add more Style to a outfit.

Thanks so much Nancy. It made my day seeing that in the mag xx
It was nice to turn the page of my Woman and Home magazine to see you on the page, Laurie. Love the Claudia Bradby bracelet.

Hi Marianne. Ah, it’s lovely to hear that. Thank you so much. xx
My favorite here is the blazer (such a lovely pink!) and the espadrilles. I finally did buy one pair this year but I still will look for a pair of neutral ones at the end of summer with a wedge. You are right, they go with everything!
Author
Thanks Mireille. Yes, i’m collecting espadrilles! I love them! xx
Blazers are so versatile aren’t they, Laura?#anythinggoes@_karendennis
