I’m sharing some outfits that I’ve worn and posted on my Instagram feed. The weather has changed this week and it’s so lovely not to have to get all swaddled up in thick coats! I’m thinking about what I will need to add to my wardrobe for SS21 and I feel it’s time for blazers rather than coats. This makes me so happy!
Is it time for the wardrobe changeover or am I jumping the gun? I can’t decide what I will need for SS21 until I have done that.
I played with black more this past winter than at any other time.
I found the pleather trousers on H&M at a bargain price of £13.00 I fancied trying more of a trouser type rather than skinny’s or leggings. I feel these are so much more flattering. I’m now on the hunt for real leather in a similar style.
The Baukjen top was my first stab at wearing an all-black outfit. I had to give it a try because I just fell in love with the style and fit of this off the shoulder top. I have the Baukjen Andie skirt and paired together, they look like a dress.
I’ve worn it with jeans, dressed it up and I think it compliments the pleather trousers perfectly. The “bovver boots” As I like to call them were a Christmas present.

The black dress that got worn much more than I thought it would
The knitted dress I purchased from Phase Eight I really didn’t think I was going to like it but it’s ended up being one of my most worn dresses for winter. I like that it didn’t crease, it was really comfortable and cosy to wear. One that will definitely be stored away for next winter.
I can’t stop hunting out bargains. for SS21
The sales are so tempting! I really need to reign myself in. I bought a couple of items from Mango. They were just too good not to. I spotted so many lovely items on the website I could have bought so much more.
I spotted this lovely lightweight puff-sleeved blouse. I know I will wear it a lot in the warmer months. As soon as The sun popped out last weekend I wore it with a vest top underneath. I’m sharing the blouse along with some other sale beauties from Mango below.
Plenty warm enough to sit in the garden and try out the prescription sunglasses that I mentioned in my last couple of posts. Reading in the garden was a problem last year with the glare. I haven’t bought an umbrella yet but I will this year. It’s lovely though to be able to sit and read outside.

The second item I bought was this dress. I was dubious about the length (It just sits at knee level) and when it arrived I was even more dubious! I’m just not used to wearing dresses this short unless it’s summertime.
You will have to excuse the un-done hair in the photo. I took this photo during the try on. I posted on Instagram and asked what everyone thought of the length. It got the thumbs up.
The dress is floaty and very comfortable. It was around £12.00 and I thought that wasn’t a lot of money to lose. I think it will be great with sandals when the weather picks up. I will most probably need to tan those legs though! I’ve listed some other great sale dresses from Mango below including this one.

Not quite SS21 but we still need a cosy knit
The jumper has to be my favourite item for February. I was asked by Roman Originals if I’d like to do a clothing haul over on my YouTube channel. I chose this jumper and I was so surprised when it arrived. I can’t tell you how soft it is.
I like the new trend neckline of this jumper too. I’ve been seeing it pop up everywhere in high-end brands and wanted to give it a try. I’ve paired the jumper with Roman’s stretch slim trousers. They are like between a legging and trousers. A smart legging I guess?

It’s time for blazers. I’m re-styling the Trailblazer
The blazer that I featured in my last post from Cotton Traders is getting worn a lot. The past few days I haven’t had to wear layers and a heavy coat and this makes me very happy. I have a huge collection of blazers and I can’t wait to wear them all.
This time I’ve styled the blazer quite simply with jeans and a jumper. Country chic! I belted it and I like it styled this way. I think I might try wearing it with the Mango dress above too. I love how easy it is to style. Smart yet casual if you see what I mean. It’s the corduroy material I think.

Mango has had some amazing sale items Jess. I had to refrain myself! xx
I think we’ve a little while to go yet before we get the real Spring weather – I’ve heard these short bouts of spring-like weather called Fools Spring, which is a little harsh. I’m enjoying the warmer bouts, but also have my winter coat close at hand, for now! Thanks for joining us at #PoCoLo

Hi Stephanie. It’s definitely fools spring that we’re having right now! xx

Laurie, I am really liking the all black outfits on you! They are all very striking. Your faux leather trousers are super cool and the boots with them are fabulous! And I really like the solid black knit dress as well as the ruffly printed one. And your belted corduroy blazer is so fun, too! Lots of great stuff, my friend. Thanks for linking with me!

Thanks Jodie. I hope you do try it. I think it gives more shape xx
You wear black so well and I really like the belted blazer on you! 🙂
I’m lucky we build my wardrobe room to my exact specifications – or I should say my uncle built it for me, haha! So I don’t do a wardrobe changeover as I have space to have everything out at the same time, it makes it easier for those unexpected days in summer or winter where the weather is different than expected, haha!
Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup!
Hope you’re having a good weekend 🙂 It’s a relaxing and quiet one here.

Lucky you Mica. I just don’t have enough room xx
I’ve not changed mine over yet, it’s been way too cold again! What is mother nature doing to us.

Dear Laurie I love you blog and always have and I hate saying negative remarks , and I haven’t
when commenting on a particular post , all the hard work that goes into your blog is truly appreciated
by all us loyal followers. But on this occasion it’s thumbs down.
You have gorgeous hair and skin and are petite but the black leather trousers don’t do you any favours they
some how don’t seem you. Of course as you say you have been experimenting with black. The black dress looks great but if I was truthful you look stunning in creams , coffee , taupe and soft colours like blush or nude. Navy suites you too, it’s softer .
Hope we are still friends ! Yes bover boots I forgot about that saying, .
Stay safe, stay healthy and roll on warm weather

Hi Pamela. I totally agree with you about the other colour tones suiting me more. I decided to experiment with black this winter, a colour I rarely wear. I was surprised at how much I’ve enjoyed wearing it too. Hence this whole post is featuring nearly all-black outfits.
I like the trousers. They are very comfortable. I wanted to move away from the skinny version of faux leather trousers. I’m happy that you shared your opinion, Pamela. I welcome the good and the bad. I would hate it if someone said “oh wow these trousers are great” when they are actually loathing them. It can make me see sense too xx
You look so good in black, Laurie! Not everyone does…I have to wait until mid-April for the total closet-swap, but I’m moving some spring things to the front. Love seeing your gorgeous dressing room!

Hi Mary. Thank you! It’s turned really cold here again so I’m hanging fire for a bit. Thank you for stopping by xx
The second one is my favorite on you! So classy!! ~Sherry

Thank you Sherry. That dress is so easy to wear xx
I will be staying in my warmer clothes for a while. I have been looking at jumpers with collars like that. And I love black on you. Great jacket too.
Author
Thanks Hilda. I built my hopes up way too quick. Back to dark and cold here again! xx
These are all really cute outfits! I love the all black looks. They have a fun edgy vibe to them!
Author
Thanks Laura. I’ve never thought of myself as edgy before! xx
I did put away all of my heavier sweaters and brought out a lot of my spring clothes. It did help me make a list of what I would like to buy but after spending a little too much in February (clothes and other things) I am going to take March off.
Author
Yes Mireille. I can’t wait to get everything out. I always forget a few items and I love the surprise. can’t prepare for my summer wardrobe until I know what I need. Most probably not a lot! xx
All of these pieces are fabulous! I really love your printed dress from Mango!

Thanks Jill. I’m getting used to the length now xx
You look fabulous in each outfit, Laurie. And I don’t think your hair looked bad in that particular shot you mentioned! I probably wouldn’t do the changeover just yet lol…. after all, it is only early March and anything could happen! It’s turned chilly again over here in the Algarve. I’m actually wearing a big chunky knit jumper and I could do with something else!
Big hugs

I’m hoping to visit your beautiful country this year Suzy! Fingers crossed xx
I love black outfits, so you had me there. I am looking for a skirt and can’t find it anywhere. And then I looked at Mango yesterday. I never shop at Mango, but saw this gorgeous skirt. But I think I wil wait a few more weeks, probably till is sold out….

Mango has some amazing bargains at the moment, Nancy. Grab it while you can! xx
These are excellent buys! Love the puff sleeve blouse and you look wonderful in that blazer!

Thanks, Lovely. That blazer certainly turned out to be very versatile xx
However tempting it is to respond to the call of my Spring and Summer wardrobe, I don’t think I’ll be doing the changeover just yet. I usually only do mine early April. March can still be such a treacherous month, weather wise.
Your puff sleeved Mango blouse is gorgeous, and so is that knee-length dress. I’m also loving the blazer! xxx

I’m waiting too Ann. I think I was jumping the gun even thinking about it xx
Love the corduroy jacket on you L. Great styling as ever. X
Author
Thanks Ashley. I’m going to get a lot of wear out of that blazer! xx
You look good in black Laurie! The Mango dress is lovely and definitely not too short.
Some great choices Laurie and you suit black
