Cotton Traders Friday Blazer Styled three ways

I debated for a while how to take photos of this new Cotton traders blazer. Should I go to one of my remote country spots and take shots? Then I thought I might not be setting a good example by not staying home? But then again I could count it as daily exercise?

I decided on staying home, not taking any risks, and shoot them in the garden. And being as I was at home, I could share three ways of how I would wear this blazer and it gives you a little more reading. We all have a bit of extra time on our hands, don’t we!

look one – Camel and Cream

And here I am with a halo! It was god damn hard taking the photos because the sun covers the entire garden! Anyway, here’s the new blazer. I’m so pleased with it. It’s called the Friday Blazer from Cotton Traders.

I was invited to attend the SS20 press day just before Christmas and as soon as I spotted this blazer I wanted it. This will work well with all the neutral shades I have collected the past few years.

The first look is simple. Cream top and trousers. I kept the accessories pretty simple so that the blazer didn’t look too overdressed. The pearl earrings made a good pairing with this outfit. I wear these ones a lot.

I kept wondering if any of the neighbours could see me. I bet they thought I had gone mad parading around the garden in different outfits!

The trousers are last years favourites (now on sale) I love them so much I didn’t put them away with the rest of my summer stuff. I’ve even worn these with thick chunky jumpers and they’ve looked great. You can see them worn in other posts here and here

Look two – camel and denim

Classic camel and denim. The casual weekend wear style that I love. Am I the only one who loves boot-cut jeans over any style of jean? These jeans are a good few years old now and they are still my favourite pair of jeans to date. They make my legs look longer! I’m just wearing a simple plain white T-shirt underneath to keep the look casual.

Accessories are key with this look I think. I love the gold buttons on the cuffs and the front of the blazer. The gold on the belt buckle, I wear this reversible belt on a near-daily basis. The bag and jewellery all tie the look together.

A simple but effective necklace from Baukjen that I wear a lot I thought worthy of a mention!

The blazer isn’t fitted at all. It’s quite a boxy shape and great for casual styling or a more dressed up look like my first chosen styling. This is the first item I’ve had from Cotton Traders and I’m pretty impressed. The pricing is good.

at the moment and I think the quality is good for the price. It’s also available in a gorgeous Cobalt Blue

Look three with the Cotton Traders Blazer- camel and leopard

I decided to add one look with dark colours but I have to say, it’s my least favourite look. Maybe a cream top would have been better? If you are a regular here you will already know that I shy away from anything too dark. But I wanted to show that the camel works with both light and dark. Very versatile indeed.

I’m still getting a lot of wear out of my boots. I think they are the most expensive item in my wardrobe! I’m determined to get my price per wear out of them. To be fair, they have stayed in great condition and I’m hoping they will go in the loft soon to make way for the spring-summer items to come out.

There’s plenty of wear left in them and I have no regrets spending the extra money I wouldn’t normally. The skirt I have worn many times. It’s one of my most worn items of last winter. Now on sale and most sizes available.

Which style is your favourite? Let me know!

I’ve enjoyed wearing this Amanda Wakeley bag too. Won in an Instagram competition. I couldn’t believe it when I won. I’ve always shied away from buying expensive designer accessories but the quality definitely stands out and I feel a little extra special each time I use it.

If you were to buy a designer accessory, what would you go for? Do you have an expensive designer item on a wish list?

Keep you and yours safe and well xx

The pictures from your garden turned out really well. I love the first one, as the sunlight is creating gloriole around your blond hair. The blazer is lovely. I’m sure that you get a lot of use of it. Thank you for sharing this post with My Red Carpet.

Haha! I’m messy too but it doesn’t seem to make a lot of difference Emma. I literally get dressed just before I leave the house normally xx

Laurie, this is a gorgeous blazer and ever so versatile, isn’t it? I love all three ways that you have styled it. I have been going to remote places to take photos maybe once or twice a week and counting it as exercise. Basically, my husband and I take the children to vacant trails on the Army base to go for walks and we take some photos then. Other than that, I don’t even get dressed these days!

Yes. I can think of lots of remote places but O worried that people would think badly of me for going out at all. See. This isolation has gone to my head! xx

  14. April 3, 2020 / 9:30 am

You look super stylish in all of them, Laurie. I really love the first one where you paired, all whites and neutrals – pure elegance. I recently read a great article about how stylish Jennifer Aniston is and her secret is white, black and neutrals. I am also struggling with finding places for photo shoots without being fined :). Stay safe and healthy

This is going to be tough for us all isn’t it Anna. As I just said above I don’t want people thinking badly of me. But I know of places where there won’t be anyone. It’s the message too though isn’t it? xx

  15. April 2, 2020 / 11:04 am

I love them all, Laurie but my favourite is the jeans – you know how much I love jeans and you look fabulous in them. That photo of you sitting down looking up at the sun is absolutely GORGEOUS! One for a frame, I think.
I hope you and Dee (it is Dee, isn’t it??) are both keeping well
    Big hugs

Love the blazer and jeans combo. I do have a thing for blazers so love all
of these looks. Neutrals are my favourite too, so the colour of your jacket is
    Perfect.

    Hi Laurie
I love all of these looks! Very luxe! Perhaps for Spring I love the first with the neutrals and creams. I have a few delicatre gold necklaces that I love to wear too. The blazer is gorgeous! I would love a camel one, just bought a structured white blazer .

Lovely jess. I’m thinking about getting a white one too. I have a really good off white one but it’s very stiff. I like my blazers comfortable and fluid xx

  19. April 1, 2020 / 1:47 pm

That’s a brilliant addition to your wardrobe Laurie. It looks very high end! I love the jacket with those Baukjen white trousers and top. I have a similar problem with the garden – when the sun’s out it becomes virtually impossible to take pictures. I have to be patient and wait for the early evening.

  20. March 31, 2020 / 9:06 pm

I often wonder what the neighbours think when I take shots – do you take your own or does Dee that them for you?
This is a fabulous jacket and I can see why you like it. Once we get out from this bloomin’ virus we can wear all our lovely summery clothes. Take care Laurie and lets hope the sun keeps shining. Jacqui xx

  21. March 31, 2020 / 8:21 pm

Ha ha, you wonder what your neighbours would think, but shoot in public places like the next to model!! Lol. I love the first look the best, neutrals look so chique on you!

These are all great looks, but the first one with the cream, gold, and those FABULOUS shoes is too perfect not to win. Love your classic style.

Hi Mary! A terrace sounds good to me. I’ve literally only just had my garden renovated and I don’t even have any plants or flowers yet. I’m going to try shopping online and hopefully, the photos will look more appealing. The cream is my favourite too! Thank you for stopping by xx
