two ageless-style dresses from Roman Originals

I have two beautiful ageless-style dresses to share with you this week. Hitting sixty this year, certainly gets your mind thinking about what is age-appropriate. Something I’ve never thought about before,

But these two dresses could literally be worn at any age. I know my daughter likes both of these dresses and she’s just thirty. But that’s the good thing about classic, timeless styles, they can be worn at literally any age. I also think this is why Roman Originals is such a popular brand too. The designs are appropriate for many age groups.

It was the colour of this ageless style dress that sang to me

Firstly, how gorgeous are the colours in this dress? Other than that it’s a very simple flattering design. A shirt dress buttoned all the way through, a self-tie belt and a single-tiered hem. It’s definitely the material of the dress that makes it.

The short, soft elasticated sleeves have a slight ruffle to the hem. Too many frills and ruffles are one of the things I shy away from but if you look at one sleeve I’ve just tucked the frilled hem under so that you can see the difference and I think I prefer it that way.

I love how simple and easy the design of the dress is. And the car journey to my favourite park in London that is Syon Park didn’t leave any creases. Bonus!

Accessories are kept quite minimal, I’m letting the dress do the talking. But I did choose to wear a new bracelet from Monica Vinader. The Delphi Gemstone friendship bracelet is made of Turquoise and Gold Vermais. A real summer statement piece, but it will also look great with navy and denim in the colder months.

I currently have a 20% discount code for Monica Vinader. Use the code VANITY20

I’m pairing the dress with possibly the cheapest bag I’ve ever bought! But I’ve used it so much. This little square jute tote bag from Amazon has come in so handy.

The blue espadrilles that come out year after year. I feel that Espadrilles come under the ageless-style category too. I have them in so many colours. Cool and comfortable with just that little touch of elevation that little me needs.

The ageless-style transitional dress

I chose this second Roman Originals dress for several reasons. I love the print and colours of the dress. They work on this glorious sunny day taking the photos but I know it will work well for the autumn too. Red, black, rust and cream hues I just love all these colour tones.

As soon as I saw this dress on the Roman Originals model ( You can view all of Roman Originals’s clothing on film on their website) I ticked off all the reasons to choose this dress.

The colours, it’s another ageless-style design with barely any frills, just a light touch at the shirred cuffs. The length, and the ruched bodice. I always like a ruched bodice, something to hug you in a little always helps!

I’ve paired the dress with my favourite accessories of the summer. A dupe Hermes belt, Chloe Tan Sandals and a new classic watch from Lola Rose. All of these items were received very well in my accessories haul on YouTube. Actually, I will leave that film at the end of this post. I’ve worn these items all through the summer.

I also took a hat with me to my favourite Essex garden Hyde Hall. It was one of the last sunny days and it was a scorcher!

I will be able to wear this dress through the winter months too. I’m sure you will see it here on the blog again paired with boots and a jacket, or maybe a knitted vest over the top. I think it will look great paired with either Black or Tan.

And that’s where we’re at right now, isn’t it? Thinking about getting that autumn wardrobe ready. I have some lovely new items to share with you soon!

Thanks, Suzy. Yes, I love the vibrancy of the blue dress. I like a shirred bodice for hiding the lumps and bumps lol xx

I LOVE the blue dress, Laurie! The print and the colours are absolutely beautiful. I’m not sure it would suit me, but I would definitely try it on in the store because it really does talk to me! I love the colours of the other dress, but I’m not a big fan of the shirring on the body…probably because we had so many of that style as little kids and I remember not being comfortable in them lol!
    Hugs
