The weather is not being kind to us UK residents. This time last year was far warmer! But there is a slight bonus for me in this respect. I found some fantastic real leather trousers. I’ve been searching for a good quality pair for some time but they are so expensive! I spotted this pair at such a bargain price and thought even if I didn’t get to wear them much until our next winter arrives it would be worth pushing the buy button.
I’ve never purchased anything from La Redoute before but the returns policy looked ok. I’m so used to buying online now, returning items is so much easier now too. Most brands have a drop-off point in shops and stores. No more queuing at the post office. I bought a size 10 and I would say get your regular size.
The search for my leather trousers began last year but I had to have a savings pot at the ready. Most styles that I wanted were £300 or upwards. H&M have real leather trousers for £199 but they were of the skinny style and I didn’t want those. I originally bought a really cheap faux leather pair (see last Dressing Room Diaries post) in the style that I wanted to see how I felt about wearing them. Did I wear them enough? Yes.
When the leather trousers arrived I really kept my fingers crossed unwrapping them. The fit is really good, the quality is as good as the one’s I’ve been drooling over that were so expensive and overall I’m super pleased. Priced at just £156 an absolute bargain.
They had sold out quickly at that price. I wasn’t going to post them here on the website but I noticed that new stock of these trousers keep arriving. If you are interested, keep them book marked. They sell very quickly.
I’ve paired the trousers with a favourite top from George Asda, sold out now but I’ve linked similar below. The Channel dupe shoes are from Olive Aubrey. Pricey but a brand worth looking at. I’ve also linked the Marks And Spencer version below.

I celebrated my birthday with my children and grandchildren
My birthday fell on Easter Sunday this year. I got lucky with the weather. Snow was predicted but instead, we were graced with a beautiful sunny day. I felt so lucky to be able to see all my children and grandchildren this year. Last year I didn’t see anyone.
Who’d have thought such an easy obvious thing to do just over a year ago would bring such joy. And I can’t believe I’m two years away from 60! in my head I’m still 30 and that’s how it’s staying!
The dress was purchased from Karen Millen. I sized up because the brand is famous for coming up small. It’s a great every day dress but I’m not totally over the moon with it. I should have sent it back.

It’s amazing how accessories can switch up a look. The shoes are absolutely ancient from F&F and I swapped my gold strap for my Nordgreen watch for a Tan leather one. The classic Rina bag finished the look.

New pastel hue’s for spring
I have been gifted some new shoes from Vionic Uk. You know how much I love this brand! I love the pastel shade of Pinky/Lilac and I know these will be worn a great deal. Perfect for a lot of walking, The Cheryl Loafer are gorgeous. Available in this year’s colour trend of Sage too. Vionic has called it Litchen. You will never find more comfort in a pair of shoes. I love them. The Jeans are old, from Karen Millen and the jumper is also old from BerryLook.
Good loungewear will still be trending
I’m really pleased with the loungewear set that I received from Roman Originals. Just before taking a photo for the good old Instagram grid, Beau is always trying to muscle in on the action. Honestly, if she spots a camera or phone out for photos, she’s ready to photobomb! I normally just shut her out of the room, otherwise, she would be in all my at-home photos.
I’ve really enjoyed this loungewear suit. It’s not so much like pyjamas, that you couldn’t make a swift trip to the corner shop for provisions. I know I still won’t be going out as much as usual will you? Good loungewear will still be a good key part of our wardrobes. Until it gets hotter and I swap for kaftans. I always like wearing those around the house.

Ok, the outfit with the striped knit and cream button front jeans is perfect on you and I totally love! The leather pants are fab too and I agree about the dress – it must has too much fabric for your small frame, if the skirt was cut a bit narrower it would look a lot better which is why that blazer works with it so well.
Totally agree about the use of accessories – they make all the difference!!

So lovely to catch up on your style new Laurie! I think your leather trousers look fabulous, great quality too. I managed to find some vintage leather flares last year and loved the fact that they’ll go on forever.
The dress looks like it swamps your petite frame which is a shame as the colour really suits you. And three cheers for the lounge suit – how did we ever do without these? I read somewhere that they are the most purchased item for women during lockdown. Hardly surprising eh?

That dress is fantastic and I am glad you get to wear those leather pants a little before it warms up. We just had a 2 day cold snap here with overnight freezing temperatures. Thankfully it will warm back up starting tomorrow. Ready to enjoy the outdoors but not the mosquitoes so I need to think about that.
