Court Shoes With A Perfect Height Heel And No Scuffing!

Trying out the AW17 collection from Lotus, I had a hard time choosing! But then my eye wandered over this stylish pair of court shoes, not because of the shape or the heel height, it was the great detailing on the heel that caught my eye.

Yep, I’ve honed straight into the heels on these shoes. My first thought was ooh shiny! And then I thought, hang on a minute, I won’t scuff those when I’m driving! Does this happen to you? I love this idea and super smart detailing. The Gold is actually metal too. Like a heel guard! I will take metal hardware on my heels any day.

I did intend to wear something more in the way of an evening outfit to show the shoes and bag that I have chosen but it’s freezing! So I decided on a smart casual look, plus I don’t have any parties or nights out planned. I guess they will start next month with Christmas coming.

The heel just gives that nice little bit of elevation

One thing that I do know is that Lotus provide stylish shoes/boots and you may remember the sandals that I posted earlier in the year. Catch It here if you wish to browse. I’m still using the gorgeous bag from that post a lot. It’s one of my favourites, and it’s still available on sale at the moment. But getting back to the shoes, the Mercy Black court shoe, I like the height of the heel, it just gives that nice little bit of elevation, but is still super comfortable to wear too.

These shoes are neither too high or low – just right

The shoes are Microfibre on the upper outside, so much easier to care for than suede, and they come in Red or Navy too. The Black printed Castor bag can be used as a clutch or you can use the chain that’s hidden inside, and I love the gold tassel detail.

Faux leather- in or out?

I’ve chosen to wear this Black faux leather skirt to show off the shoes. Any of you that know me well will know that I wear my trousers quite long and you would only see the tip of these shoes in them & I want you to see the whole shoe! Black skinny jeans would look great with these, so I will be shopping for those. After wearing the skirt, I think the skirt has had its day. I still like to wear my faux leather jeans, and the shops are still stocking them in all colours, so obviously still in demand. I do love this Zara frayed jacket though. It’s great with jeans or trousers too.

Loving this block heel trend it’s so easy to wear!

The bag is Gorgeous!  I love the printed design and the gold hardware and chain. It’s good enough for evening but not too glam to use for smart daytime looks. The Lotus Castor Clutch bag will fit the bill for many an occasion

And yes, here it comes! Why does it always rain when I decide to take my photos! A quick dash to the car was needed trust me!

I like the shoes and the skirt and jacket look wonderful on you. I’m horrible about scuffing shoes. I look at them and they scuff.

I love these Laurie and the gold on the heel adds a touch of glamour. You still have some height but the heel width means I wouldn’t be trying to balance and can concentrate on having fun. Thanks for sharing with us at #overthemoon link party. Have a great week!

I can see why you chose these shoes, Laurie, they look very elegant and yet extremely comfortable. Sometimes I do get my shoes scuffed, I think it depends on the style. I also love the skirt and this red frayed jacket that looks so lovely on you.

Those are great shoes – as you know I prefer lower heels but I don’t like my shoes to be fuddy duddy, so any heel detail is perfect!

Love the detail on the heel…really different! I have to buy lower heels now…dodgy knee from injury and just can’t do the huge ones now!! Lovely outfit and thanks for sharing with #bloggersbest x

These shoes are gorgeous Laurie, and such a good height too. I really love high heels, but it’s impossible to wear them all day long, whereas these look so comfortable. The red jacket works so well with this; it’s one of my favourites of yours.

    Have a lovely week!

I like details like the heel. Just gives the shoe a point of difference to stand out without screaming.
And I for one am so over really high heels – not that I ever wore them really but that looks like a great height – one you could wear all day without crippling your feet!

What a great idea, to have metal on the heel like that! They’re the perfect height for me too – I just can’t get on with really high heels any more and these look gorgeous on you, Laurie. Love the bag, the jacket and the skirt too!

Ha, my cat s name is Castor! I love metal on shoes and boots, especially gold colored metal. Yes, it’s getting very cold to shoot outfit photos without a jacket! Brrrr. That jacket is very nice, I love the design.

Those shoes look super comfortable and indeed the detail at the heel will keep them from scuffing. I love the clutch bag with the little tassel too. And what a lovely jacket, which works great with all the black. xxx

    You look amazing Laurie

Oh my, those shoes are smart! The beauty with those heels is that they ARE the statement, the punctuation in the outfit, and they are all that’s needed to lift a plain black dress or a black jeans and top. I see lots of easy dressing ahead with those shoes, Laurie! And how clever of Lotus to make a statement detail practical with the in-built heel guard (you may guess that I’m loving these shoes!).
Goodness, how classy that bag looks and I love the flexibility of clutch or shoulder bag.
You’ve chosen well, dear, and showcased them so elegantly and with a Christmas feel from the jacket. So lovely.
Have a great week, hugs, x.
