Bonmarche Shades Of Grey & Monochromatic Me

Today I’m sharing with you another great item from Bonmarche

I love the soft shade of grey of this jacket, and the detailing on the shoulders. Warm enough for our weather with a jumper at the moment, but will see me through Spring with  a T shirt. A soft faux suede material cut in a feminine biker style.

The seamed detail on the back of the jacket is a great waist emphasizer. That’s always a bonus!

I have chosen to style the jacket with various shades of grey. Maybe your thinking it’s too monochromatic . Grey is such a great base shade this jacket could be worn with so many other colours. I know it will go great with this skirt . But these items in my wardrobe jumped to my attention as soon as I was deciding what to pair it with.

The Grey roll neck jumper compliments the style of the neck of the jacket, and the silver popper fastening and zip detail is brought out with the silver in the necklace. Dark grey faux leather trousers and bag finish the look. The jacket also looks great with the dress it’s paired with on-line here Excuse the wind swept look!

Now there’s a note to self here! before leaving the house, checking that I looked Ok. I have never taken into consideration how these trousers look after sitting in them for a while!
I have loved these trousers and am broken hearted  that they bag so badly. Even more disturbed that Iv’e worn them so much not realizing this was happening!

I’d like to know what you would pair this jacket with? Are you with me on the monochromatic look?
Do take a look at what Bonmarche have to offer. Iv’e got my eye on their new Ultimate shape enhancing jeans I bet they wont bag like these trousers!

Xo Laurie

You look fabulous as usual Laurie. I'm loving the monochromatic look, and think the jacket will look great with some colour in the spring. xx

Oh, this is a fantastic monochromatic look! I cannot decide which I like more – the amazing jacket or charcoal faux leather pants. It's a wonderful combination. Thanks so much for linking up with Fabulous Friday!

I love this monochromatic look, the detailing of the jacket is pronounced without having to fight with other colors and patterns. The seaming on the back is so cool, without it jackets can get too boxy, this one showcases your waist so well. The fabric is lovely too, I like texture and this looks soft and warm.

Thank you Nikki. You describe the jacket better than myself! I'm so glad you like it xx

Hi Laurie, I love this whole look, you always get it right. Just started looking at Bonmarche and I've got a cute navy blouse with a frill detail, I'll be styling this in the next week or so. Hope you're well. x

I'm seriously loving this Bonmarche jacket Laurie. The whole monochromatic look is amazing. I would probably wear it with a long black gypsy skirt, but then again I don't normally wear pants 😉

    • January 17, 2017 / 8:13 pm

Thank you Michelle. This can be worn with a dress or skirt too. I think it would look great with a plain shift dress actually. Watch this space! I'm wondering though, why you don't wear pants? Is there a specific reason or just preference? Thank you so much for stopping by again x

I've found that a well styled and well fitting jacket such as yours is often hard to find. I think the monochromatic color palette is fabulous and the whole look is very nice (mind the bagging of your pants). I try to check for wrinkling problems with skirts or pants when shopping by gathering the fabric in my hand and holding it tight for several minutes. If it creases then, it sure will crease during a day's wear. All that aside, thank you for adding your post to my Fine-Whatever link up.

Thank you Rena. These trousers look perfect when washed and put on. I wasn't allowing for the stretching that happens when I sat down in them. Such a shame! x

Grey looks fabulous on you and the jacket roll neck combo really compliment each other. I know what you mean about the trousers bagging but it's hard to give up on a favourite pair of trousers!

Thank you Tinuke. I'm sad about the trousers! Thank you for stopping by x

You look lovely in this soft monchrome look Laurie. I think the pleated skirt you recently feautured would have worked equally well with this jacket. Too bad about the trousers, but we can't always get to a mirror to check these things out half way through the day, can we?
    Have a lovely week x

I don't usually wear a monochromatic look, but this outfit might make me change my mind!! It's absolutely fabulous, Laurie!
And I really don't think the pants look that bad. I would never have looked at these photos and thought anything bad about them!!
The jacket is wonderful…I'm going to check out the company right now!

  20. January 10, 2017 / 11:08 am

The jacket looks great with the roll neck jumper. Bonmarche has undergone quite a transformation recently! I love wearing different shades of grey together – it's such a flattering colour. I've started my own blog link up today and would love it if you could join in 🙂

Laurie, that monochromatic look is lovely. Sometimes that is the way to go. It is sleek, classic and so very stylish. You look amazing! The only thing I might have changed is a bright bag. That would be a way to add color without changing the overall look. But I love this look! – Amy

Thank you Amy. And yes I have to agree with that. I look forward to brighter weather to wear brighter colours with the jacket. Good to hear from you xx

  22. January 9, 2017 / 10:26 pm

It looks a very versatile and flattering jacket. I'm not familiar with bonmarche, we don't have one. Shame that the trousers clinging and bagging, grey faux leather sounds like they could have been very useful.

    • January 10, 2017 / 9:50 pm

I am gutted about these trousers Mary! I loved them when I bought them! x

  23. January 9, 2017 / 7:27 pm

I love this monochronic look. And especially with the necklace. I think you can wear anything under that jacket, and any color. I think I also would love it with a ruffled blouse! Is your mother doing better Laurie?

    • January 10, 2017 / 9:49 pm

Nancy. So lovely of you to ask about mother. She is really so much better. Just managed to get her out driving her car again.I didn't think that was going to happen again. Thank you for asking Nancy xx

  24. I also love the shades of grey. They look very good on you. What a pity with the trousers bagging :/. I was about to say I love also the trousers but the bagging really is not such a good thing.

    • January 10, 2017 / 9:47 pm

You know it Naisellisia! I am gutted because I have loved these trousers and now there going in the bin!

  25. January 9, 2017 / 2:58 pm
