5Over50 These Boots were Made For Walking

Hi Everyone

Here we are in November already! And of course, boots are a bit of a wardrobe essential at this time of year. Ankle boots, Kneehigh boots, Shoe boots. The list is endless and I’m wondering if there is actually any woman who is going to read this that doesn’t actually own a pair of boots of some kind?

I’m sharing these comfy walk for miles favourite Ankle boots

Thinking about what to wear for the challenge, I nearly styled those beauties that I shared with you all last week but thought I’d offer something different. If you didn’t see last weeks boots you can catch the post here. These ankle boots from Gabor have lasted over a year and are still going strong! They are so comfortable, if I know I’m going to do a lot of walking it’s these that I put on.

Deciding what to wear

I purchased this coat from FandF a couple of weeks ago and decided to wear all Black underneath. Yes me in Black! If your a regular reader then you will already know that it’s a colour that I very rarely wear. I just fancied a change! I love seeing Black on other women, but it’s a colour that can completely wash me out. I think it’s just about gettawayable (if that’s a word!) with the coat breaking up the Black a little.

Faux leather jeans, a trend that’s still going strong and not surprising when they are so easy to wear. They are still in all the shops. I wondered if the trend would pan out this year. A simple black roll neck and Black slouchy bag. The coat is really comfy and roomy enough for a thick roll-neck jumper when the temperature really drops. I think it will look great with Red.

The only other colour I’m wearing is the Maroon on my nails!

So. Here’s a close up of my comfy Gabor boots. The heel isn’t too high and that is eased by the platform in the front. So it feels almost as if your wearing semi flat boots. What is your favourite comfortable walk for miles boots? Let me know!

Let’s take a look at what the other girls from the 5over50 are wearing

Well my love of heels extends to boots! You can never have enough pairs! I love a strong black ankle boot and my favourite pair has lasted 5+ years now and really are nearing the end of their life but I can’t bring myself to get rid of them. This is a great outfit Laurie as always and I disagree on the black – I know I have found I can’t wear it as well as I did when I was younger but I think you carry it off very well. #TweensTeensBeyond

Mary likes Gabor. I have had shoes before and they were brilliant. I’m in the market for new boots so I’ll look them up. Yours are very stylish. To be comfortable too, heaven.

Ah, two ladies in black! You look amazing! I love a totally black outfit and that coat is fantastic! Why don t I ever find a F&F in the South? I reallyl am very much in love with your look!

I think the trick with wearing black is indeed to break it up as you did with this lovely coat. I worry about looking washed out too, but this little trick has worked perfectly as you show. Your boots look fab and it really surprises me that such a high heeled boot can be comfy and yet the platform is that bit of magic that makes all the difference. A red sweater will be great with this outfit too.

    Have a fab week!

I have a coat just like that Laurie! You see, you CAN wear black. Super backdrop with the mural!

  27. November 6, 2017 / 8:56 am

Oh those boots are walking all over me, Laurie. I LOVE Gabor boots and have a bit of an addiction, so you are talking my language! Gabors are super comfy, durable yet uber stylish too. And how cruel – I have been lusting after the very same boots in your scroll display … and now you have made mind up. Those boots ARE for me!
Love the coat too. You always look so perfectly put together and you look super in black. The trick for me is to never leave home without make up when wearing black.
Great post, your boots are walking the walk!
    Hugs. X.
