Hi, Everyone. I’m sharing John Lewis with you today. I just want to fess up that this is a sponsored post and there are affiliate links here. John Lewis has a perfect range of contemporary, smart and versatile items that will fix any workwear dilemmas you may have.
Where do you shop for your workwear? What type of environment do you work in? I’m sharing my idea of a smart outfit that could easily go from office to dinner with a quick change of accessories.
There is still the stigma that blogging isn’t a real job, and yes ok, it doesn’t require a suit and heels when you’re sitting at the desk, but there are still days when you meet to meet people and look stylish, smart and professional. The saddest part about that stigma though is the fact that people don’t realise just how much hard work goes into blogging!
There’s nothing better than “One stop shopping” in town or online
There is one big fat bonus about blogging, and that’s the fact that you can pick your office up and take it anywhere! Here I am sitting in the sun, having coffee, getting my ideas together. But let’s talk about the outfit.
I’m a huge fan of one-stop shopping. In town or online. Looking through the John Lewis site, there was just so much choice for workwear. From high-end designer to very reasonably priced items and I’m really impressed with John Lewis’s in-house brands. The new Modern Rarity brand is gorgeous too!
I chose the shirt from John Lewis’s new collection of “Loved and Found” The shirt is by Nymph and I’ve chosen this shirt for the gorgeous standout and get noticed colours. The trousers I have chosen from Hobbs One of my favourite brands. I got lucky with the sun today to show these off too!
Stand out in this gorgeous showstopping print!
I love the bright colours in the shirt, it’s light to wear, perfect if you would be working in an office and I’ve worn the shirt untucked so that the pattern is not hidden. It’s too nice to hide away! Stand out in this gorgeous showstopping print and get noticed!
I love the fact that the shirt has the print all the way around and not just on the front.
Have you heard of the Nymph brand? It’s quite new to me and they have some lovely pieces in the collection. I have my eye on this coat It ticks all my boxes!
The trousers are by Hobbs. One of my favourite all time brands. Top quality is what you get from this high-end high street brand. These would be ankle length on someone a little taller, but I love how they sit just above my shoe on little me to give the look of longer legs! These trousers will come out time and time again for me this winter. I love the petrol blue colour and the fit is perfect. There is 20% off the Iona trousers at Jon Lewis at the moment and you can find them here
The cut and design of the trousers are second to none. It always pays off to pay a little extra for a well-designed pair of trousers. These are weighty and hang perfectly.
Add a pair of heels, a good work bag and you’re good to go! I did intend to wear a blazer with this outfit, but the weather is just too good! The blazer is a key trend for this years AW17 and I have my eye on a few! Great with jeans, casual or smart, you will find some great styles here So watch this space for my new choices.

I do like John Lewis – you look very chic! #bloggersbest
You chose so well Laurie! I love the beautiful floral print blouse and those trousers are so chic. Anyone who doesn’t think blogging is a proper job should try it – I’ve never worked so hard and I’ve been working in broadcasting for 16 years! A blogger is never not working! May as well look nice while doing it though, eh? 😉

Thank you, Annette. The only two non-bloggers that I know of that see it as a professional job is one, my partner because I’m always getting nagged about how much of my time it takes up and two, the tax man! xx
My job is in the NHS so I have to wear a uniform. It would be lovely to treat myself to some bright work wear! Love the florals 🙂 Thanks for sharing with #bloggersbest

What a fabulous blouse Laurie! I love the orange, blue and the print, like you on the front and back. i understand what you are saying about blogging. My hubby and i had a conversation with a lady down the street we know as we were walking our pups. she asked what I do, and i told her fashion blogging.writing. and mentioned i was on linkedin. She asked why I would need that? her attitude was not very positive about blogging, and there is a lot of work!
This is such a lovely look!
thanks for linking!

I shop a lot in John Lewis and I have never really heard of the brand Nymph. I will look out for it. Most of my work wear is black. I need to jazz it up a bit. Pen x #KCACOLS

Thank you Pen. I love John Lewis. You can loose yourself for a good half a day if you’re not careful. Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you return xx
Hi Laurie, Very attractive outfit. I too love the colors and pattern in the top. Everything you model looks great on you! You look tall but you say you aren’t? I’m only 4’10, so everything has to be a petite! Thank you for linking up to Party in Your PJ’s. I pinned and shared!
Author
I’m 5’2 Teresa. I’m in between petite and average size. It’s a problem for me because petite can be too short and normal sizing can be too long! Thank you so much for stopping by xx
Such a lovely outfit…perfect for this time of year. Love the print.

I love the splash of colour provided by that fabulous shirt. Just what one needs at this time of year. I’m lucky to be able to wear what I like at the office. I’m usually quite dressed up, though, but in vintage style. I love dressing up, even if it’s only for going to the shops! xxx
