Hi Everyone. Well, here it is the start of my AW17 wardrobe. I’m sharing with you today my first offering that’s come in really handy the last couple of weeks and that is my Floral Parka from Bonmarche.
It’s been a while since I shared some of my favorite items from Bonmarche. Way back in May, yes May! Where did that time go? It was actually for the Neutrals Post, and I’m still wearing those items, the jacket even more now that the weather has turned.
This Showerproof Parka has come in so handy already!
As soon as I spotted this I knew it was just what I needed for putting in the car in case it rained, it’s showerproof and the hood is very handy which is a bonus and there’s no need for an umbrella to lug around the shops.
I like the pattern on the Parka, perfect to style with Jeans and or leggings. Perfect for walking the dog in your Wellies or a country walk. It’s saved me from a soaking on my quick trips to the supermarket!
There’s a drawstring at the waist for definition or you can wear it loose like I am. There’s also a handy drawstring toggle at the hood to stop any wet or wind getting in. And deep pockets! Now they are handy!
Talking of wind! This is me trying to show off the hood and how generous it is!
My Perfect Betty Bootcut Jeans For Everyday Wear
I’m wearing my Betty Bootcut Jeans from Bonmarche with the Parker. I claim these to be my everyday jeans, perfect length (you can choose different leg lengths in Bonmarche) I can wear my everyday boots/shoes with these. Did you notice the seams down the front? Is it just me that still does this? I like them that way! Do you have creases in your jeans? The daughter hates it and I just laugh it off, I’m wearing them how I want to!
Do you have a waterproof coat in your wardrobe? This is my first and I’m wondering why I have never tried one before? they are a really useful piece of kit!

Thanks for linking up to Top of the World Style. This para is a great find. Perfect for the rainy UK weather. The flowers and color up the mood! You will make people’s day where ever you go. It’s great to see color and flowers when everything is grey.
That looks great – my trouble at the moment is finding something lightweight and stylish – so, thanks! Thanks too for sharing with #PoCoLo
I’m sorry to hear about your Peggle. It must be difficult for you. Your parka is not only very useful, but very pretty with the floral print.

Such a lovely coat! It’s nice to have one that’s showerproof AND looks great. I’ve all but given up with umbrellas because the wind keeps wrecking them. Hats and hooded coats are the way forward!

Fabulous coat…and love the boot-cut jeans! I bought a waterproof rain coat last year and per wear it has been my best value item of clothing..apart from my Zara skinny jeans! Says something about our weather I guess

Now that’s a fabulous raincoat. We don’t need them much around here, but if I had one like that, i might even ask for rain!!
Thanks for joining in on the “On Monday’s we Link up”

What a great coat, love it. I definitely need a waterproof coat in my wardrobe. I recently bought a new and put some money into it, I like the ones that you can wear also when it’s not raining.

The mac is lovely. If you are anything like me I hate practical clothes, unless they kind of suit the fashion!!! Thanks for sharing with #bloggersbest

Laurie,
Thanks for sharing your fashion sense with us on WW! You photograph very well. I’m not much of a coat wearer, even when the weather turns cold unless I’m going to be outdoors and then I prefer something less constrictive. I’m good with adding a fleece vest for a layer of warmth. This works well for shopping or other errands. The rain jacket looks lovely on you and the bootcut jeans are attractive. I like jeans that are somewhere between skinny straight and bootcut. What do you call this style? I’m not much on fashion. lol Have a good day!
Author
Thank you so much Cathy. These boots are classed as Bootcut, but they are not a flared boot cut. Just a nice kick flare at the bottom xx
Love the jeans! It’s so hard to find jeans that aren’t skinny jeans these days. I like bootcut or straight jeans but it’s all skinny or super skinny in most shops! I found some straight in good old M&S the other day. (Nice to meet you, found your blog via #BloggersBest)
What a pretty coat!

That raincoat is lovely! I just adore the beautiful dark floral pattern!
We rarely use a brolly here on the islands because rain is usually accompanied by terrific gales too, so a good raincoat is key in our wardrobes. This one is so pretty and obviously practical too with that lovely big hood and roomy pockets, what a find! The bootcut jeans are always so figure flattering – I love that you’re holding on to the creases Laurie – how sweet!

That’s the perfect coat for the wet weather, Laurie. I do love the florals – it makes it much more interesting than a plain one, doesn’t it? And I’m loving the jeans on you!

Thanks for sharing your info. I really appreciate your efforts and I will be waiting for your further write ups thanks once again.
I sure miss bootcut jeans and you’ve inspired me to find a new pair. That jacket is such a great statement piece. Love, love, love it! Hope you have a great week!
Lovely jacket and it’ll be a blessing with our awful weather. Love the look indeed. xx Jacqui
I was in the UK last week and visited a Bonmarche for the first time because I always see it on your blog! They had fabulous dresses!
Author
Oh, Nancy! We could have met up! I’m so pleased that you like the store xx
Oh Laurie, you had me at ‘deep pockets’. When walking in the pouring rain why would anyone carry a bag, you’ll be dry and your bag gets soaked. So in my eyes, deep pockets is a hugely important feature with rainwear so that all the essentials can be stuffed in them. So deep pockets and hugely pretty, so that it still looks good when the rain stops – sounds like you’ve got a winner!
I have a red one I bought in France during a June downpour years ago. Paid a small fortune for it (I was desperate!) but it still looks pretty much like new as fortunately if it tips down you won’t see me for dust 😊.
Hugs, x
