Sunglasses are stuck firmly on my head again in the hope that they might be needed and not on my eye’s. When is the weather going to pick up in the south?!!
Here I am showing you one of my favourite styles that I have worn so far for our better weather and it’s freezing!!
I’m styling casual Neutrals today. Now, if you have been reading for a while you will know by now that these are my favourite colours. Pure and simple. I like colour too, but for me, I always feel good in a blend of Neutral shades.
Bloggers are always banging on about how we need to “use more colour” but I actually think it’s ok to go completely the other way too.
This jacket from Bonmarche has been so popular it’s already low in stock, but I’m sure they will get more in pretty soon. I say this is Neutral, but it actually has Navy, Aqua and white stripes in the material.
The trousers are Linen blend, flared and have a tie waist detail. I travelled to this location to have a coffee beforehand, and I’m quite pleased that they haven’t creased much at all. I’m normally put of Linen for this reason, but this material is really soft and not stiff like some Linen can be. You can buy these in Black too if you prefer here a bargain price of £18.00
I styled the outfit easily with Gold and wood tones. The lock I’m wearing was my daughters from her charm bracelet when she was just five years old. As it became heavy with charms, a new lock had to be purchased, and she gave the redundant one to me. It’s been on my neck every day for around eighteen years.
A linen and leather bag in Blue and new Espadrilles finished the look. It’s all very natural!
I love sitting here! It’s got to be one of the most peaceful parts of Kew in London I love this seat and would love something like this in my garden!
What do you think about the Neutral blends of the outfit? I know I will swap this for Navy when the weather turns to Autumn. Mind you, I could have done that today! It feels like Autumn!

Laurie I've found that as I've gotten older I also tend to prefer neutrals as well. It is much easier to wear them then having to deal with so many colors. Pops of color are nice here and there. I love your outfit.

I love the neutral tones on you Laurie. I usually avoid linen because of creasing but I may to give it another chance. I bet the trousers will be lovely and cool in hot weather, and that jacket will go with so many outfits.

The weather up north has been crappy also… crossing my fingers for the warmer weather to soon arrival. I am all about color, but I can never say no to an all nude look!!

I love the style, but I'm afraid it's a bit too neutral for me, i'd carry the turquoise from the bag into a subtle pattern in the t shirt and shoes, but otherwise i love the style

Looks fabulous Laurie. I love the way that a simple white tee sharpens up a beige or taupe – great contrast. Tie belt linen pants are always my go-to summer wear, very laid-back look and flattering for a tummy. But… I don't have this color – well, I may have some later as I've just called and they're saving some for me!! Thanks x

Oh Laurie, this is gorgeous on you. I love that jacket. I'm going to pop in at lunchtime to see if it's in stock. I have linen trousers that are years old but great for work in the summer. An essential in every wardrobe. Creasing is part of the appeal in my wold. …yeah right haha.

Love the look, and I'm with you on the wonky weather. Here on the east coast it can't seem to get with the program either. I seem to gravitate towards neutrals too. I try adding color, but always go back, lol! I guess that's just part of my "style".

Yes I have to say I was dubious about the creasing too. hat's why I made a point of it. After sitting in the car for twenty minutes, there was only slight creasing to the pockets, so I was quite impressed. This material is softer and not like your hard starched Linen xx
Gorgeous outfit, Laurie. You really do suit neutrals as well as colour. I'm not to great in light beiges and creams – I'm better in darker tones but I would definitely give this outfit a shot. It's gorgeous, especially that jacket!
