At last! I found “THE” one! After much searching for a jumpsuit that ticks all the boxes, I finally found exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’ve been banging on for ages about how much I wanted a jumpsuit, but until now, nothing fitted the criteria. You would never think it was that hard?
Its been a long search for me, there has always been something or other that’s not been quite right when it’s come down to finding the perfect fit. If it’s fitted perfectly on the body, then the legs have been just way too long or I’ve found a leg length to a jumpsuit that’s perfect and then the waistline of the jumpsuit is in the wrong place. It went on and on!
But when I did find this Sleeveless Navy Jumpsuit from Laura Ashley it ticked all the relevant boxes for me.
Made from Polyester/elastane (another non-crease outfit for the suitcase!) this weighty material hangs really well. I like the gathered side-sweeping bodice for a flattering fit.
We found a cute little garden on our holiday with some beautiful plants and shrubs to take photos in. The ground is already so dry yet there are some gorgeous flowers in Malta. I was surprised and pleased how nice and quiet it was.
The Jumpsuit has a self-tie belt and pockets. There’s a small pleat at the front that adds some extra detail to the extra wide trousers. I love how slinky it feels on. A heavier material always hangs and fits so much better.
I haven’t added much in the way of accessories to the jumpsuit, for this evening I’m keeping it fairly simple. This Shell and Marbled beaded necklace, also from Laura Ashley was a perfect pairing. For a smart casual evening out, this works great, but imagine how you could really amp it up by adding boulder accessories such as evening shoes or maybe a hat.
So by adding numerous accessories, this one piece could really take you anywhere. Laura Ashley has some really gorgeous collections this SS18. You may have already seen my Linen post. I’ve worn the casual suit so much and the two items are working hard as separates.
The fluid block colour makes you feel a little slimmer too! I told you, it ticks all the boxes! This Jumpsuit is going to be a real wardrobe staple for me, it’s going to work for any occasion. I have a wedding this year and I think it will dress up perfectly for that.

This jumpsuit was worth waiting for Laurie. The fit is beautiful and skims over your body, highlighting all your curves perfectly. I love the elegance of black too on you, it’s so sophistocated. Less is more is worth doing here with your accessories with something so classic – full marks my dear!

I agree that is the perfect jumpsuit. Great neutral – the fact that it is navy makes it perfect – slimming and flattering, perfect wide-leg pants, great belt to emphasize the waist and it fits you to a T. That is the perfect necklace for it, Laurie. =) Glad you found “the one”.

This style looks great – love the colour and the drape of the fabric. I sometimes find with jumpsuits that the fabric is a bit thin and not very substantial, this one looks great though!

I’ve got a jumpsuit that I have never worn. I must do so. I remember living in them in the early 80s. Not the suit that I now have of course. It is hard to find one at our height isn’t it. I kind of snapped mine up when I saw it then realised that I’m not sure I have the occasion. oh well, I’ll have to make the occasion.

I believe you! I never got into the jumpsuit until this year when there was one style from BP at Nordstrom that got away! Ever since then been obsessed about jumpsuits but like you I haven’t quite found one to pull the trigger on. This jumpsuit you wore on vacation is beautiful!
