CASHMERE COMFORT AND SILK

Hi Everyone And Happy New Year!!

While everyone is talking “New Year Resolutions” and what they have bought in the sales, all I am going to talk about is relaxing…

After such a very busy time partying before Christmas, the in-laws to dinner Christmas day, then rushing down to Essex to feed everyone boxing day, visiting everyone.
Then dashing back to home in London for new years eve celebrations (partied till 4am!!) I was totally done!

So once home on the first morning of the new year, I decided the door was gong to be closed for a for a couple of day’s  and everything was going to be at a complete standstill…..
Reading back on that now I realise I sound very bah humbug! Don’t get me wrong I totally loved every minute of my Christmas & new year, but I was in need of a major shutdown.

So, into the silk pyjama bottoms and a cosy cashmere cardigan. To be honest, as soon as I hit home on any day, off comes the outfit into something comfortable. So long as I know it’s decent enough to answer the door in it’s OK  pyjama bottoms, leggings and a jumper or T shirt. But for day’s when I’m going to just lounge it just feels better to have something a little more special on…..

I gave myself some beauty treatments, a facial and a manicure. You can read about my facial routine
HERE
I caught up on all the programmes I missed over the Christmas period (wasn’t Downton Abbey brilliant) caught up with the pile of magazines I’d bought, curled up on the sofa with my fave fur throw. Scoffed my face with my home made shortbread, catch the recipe HERE

So after a couple of day’s complete rest I am ready to start my year, I haven’t made any new year’s resolutions, I always break them anyway. Although I would love to be more organised, whatever I have tried it’s never worked so I don’t worry about it any more!

Before I go I wanted to tell you about a style challenge I decided to participate in on instagram. You don’t have to be a blogger, and it’s not all about fashion. I love Instagram, and have made many “cyber friends on there. Why not give it a go?. You can find me on Instagram HERE  Today’s challenge was sleeveless, this is what I wore…..

I’ve had this dress a couple of years now , I wear it in the summer or winter. Just pop a jumper or shirt underneath!

Catch you all on Friday for my Fabulous Finds post

Hi Laurie, I do exactly the same thing…as soon as I hit the front door I'm changing to my "home" clothes and pulling off all of the my jewelry! Yes, the Downton Abbey Christmas Special was lovely and it was sad for me to see it go. Thanks for lending your flair to the My Refined Style Linkup!

I love your rejuvenation day! And you looked so adorable! Sounds like you recharged well and made the most of the day. It doesn't sound like you're down on your Christmas and New Year…just that they were so lively that you need relaxation. That's a good thing.

Down time and treating yourself to some space and home pampering is vital every now and then I find. Allows the batteries to recharge to face the next hurdle!
Sleeveless dresses are so versatile, aren't they?
