SHADES OF GREY BUT NOT FIFTY

Hi Everyone
Well today has been so lovely and sunny, but freezing! I wish I had put the fur coat on today. I decided to take a walk around the grounds, Just checking if the front of the house needs painting!

Such a beautiful day, even the sunglasses were required. I wore one of my new favourite items of clothing, these faux leather trousers in grey. Teamed with a light Grey polo neck and this biker jacket in Grey and Taupe. I wished I had some grey boots actually, for me that would have finished the look off better in my mind………..

Sometimes I think it’s a downfall of mine that I can be a little too monochromatic. I have loved this bag I received just before Christmas, I love the gunmetal colour that I am really drawn to at this present time
 The jacket was bought early last year, and goes with so much in my monochromatic wardrobe (I am making a note to self as I write this to add more colour to my wardrobe)
Maybe I feel it’s more age appropriate to not be too bright? Thoughts Anyone ?

But one thing I do know.. Being petite the design of these trousers are my favourite. Side zip and slim. Not only elongate my legs, but also super slimming because of the flat front. And the biker jacket is nipped in at the sides, which I prefer to achieve more shape. The heels? Well I have been wearing them high for as along as I have been able to walk in them! They give me an extra needed inch or so on my 5’ft and a tiny bit height!

Jacket = Next
Trousers = FandF Clothing HERE in different colours
Bag = Nadia Minkoff HERE

So A lovely afternoon was had walking in the grounds. Of Syon Park! just around the corner to where I live.
XO Laurie

    I am monochromatic today too – nothing wrong with that, and let your color shine from within. xo

    Those are great trousers, Laurie. And the fit of the jacket is uber flattering.
    I actually feel the opposite to you. I feel wearing colour IS age appropriate but then I've always been comfortable with and drawn to colour. I'd feel invisible in neutrals and goodness knows how many 40+ women do start to feel invisible, the older they get. Of course, it does depend on your style personality and your skin tone/hair colour but for me at least I look better in colour and I think black in particular can actually be very unflattering on older women.

    Great outfit – I really admire the heels! Maybe a scarf to add a little bit of colour without being overwhelming? But lovely and relaxed as is! Thanks for sharing! I'm visiting from the weekend blog hop 😉

    You are working the heck out of this outfit, Laurie! And you could have even worn a brighter color and it would STILL be age appropriate. Anything you wear is gorgeous and age appropriate.
