42nd Street Compliments Of Hawes Curtis

I do love to go to the theatre. I was lucky to receive an invite to see 42nd Street compliments of Hawes Curtis a couple of weeks back. A celebration of the partnership between  Hawes Curtis and West end’s biggest show. I haven’t seen anywhere near enough shows and I have a huge bucket list. 42nd Street has now been ticked off that list! Have you seen it?

42nd street

I was gifted a gorgeous press pack on arrival and ushered to some fantastic seats. I had a perfect view. The show is full of tap dancing and singing. It was amazing!

Lulu is actually going to be featuring in it soon as one of the characters Dorothy Brock. That would have been the icing on the cake for me, but the show was excellent.

42nd Street is such a fun upbeat dance and musical

I never knew Hawes Curtis actually provided waistcoats for Fred Astaire!

Hawes & Curtis was the brand of choice for famous stars in the 1930s including Fred Astaire. During this period, Hawes & Curtis was renowned for inventing the backless waistcoat which was popular with both royalty and Hollywood dancers. The backless waistcoat was extremely comfortable and always remained in position under the tailcoat. Fred Astaire allegedly approached Hawes & Curtis to have one made, only to be regretfully refused due to high demand from the British aristocracy.

To celebrate Hawes & Curtis’ links to famous stars of the 1930s, we have partnered with the West End’s biggest show – 42nd Street. The production was made famous by the 1933 film starring Ginger Rogers. Set in 1930s New York, the show exudes the height of 1930s charm and is renowned for being the most glamorous and exuberant production on offer.

If your a regular reader here you will know that I’m a huge fan of the women’s shirts expertly made by Hawes Curtis & I have often featured them often on the blog. This one here I wear often and The one above is by far my favourite shirt. The quality is really good and I look forward to each season that the new designs are online. I actually wore this shirt to the show. Supporting my brand!

What I like about the shirts are the fit and the unusual designs. They are excellent quality for the price. At the moment you can get a gorgeous shirt from £19.99! I’m leaving my wishlist below!

Here’s a little snippet of 42nd Street

The show is full of sparkle and glamour and I really enjoyed it. The Drury Lane theatre is stunning too.

I came home with gorgeous silk ties and cufflinks. Hawes Curtis supply some fine shirts and accessories for men too. Do take a look at what’s available.

What’s your favourite show? Have you seen 42nd Street? So far out of the few,  this and Jersey Boys have been my favourites by far.

Thank you, Hawes Curtis, for such a lovely evening!

Xo Laurie

Such a stylish statement shirt! It looks wonderful with your cream wide legged trousers. I also love going to the theater and do so whenever possible. I haven’t seen 42nd St., but it does look like such fun. I did enjoy Jersey Boys when I saw it a few years ago. Hamilton is coming to our area in December and I am dying to get tickets! Thanks for linking up with Fabulous Friday!

You’re looking gorgeous in the outfit you chose for the show. And I had no idea the brand had been going so long, they are adapting well through the decades. You had me at Fred Astaire!
I don’t really do shows, living on a small island, but this one is what I think shows should really be all about, action, precision dancing, glamour, feel-good – so, great choice H&C. And they treated you like royalty, like the beautiful princess that you are – Princess Laurie .. like it!!!
Have a wonderful week, hugs x
