VINTAGE BLACK AND GOLD BACK IN THE EIGHTIES

Who doesn’t love the chance of dressing up? Especially when there’s a challenge added into the mix…

I recently went to a birthday party, one of those “must be dressed 80’s” types. I am not one for fancy dress, I would never carry off the cher, maddona, or be seen in a shell suit look.

So up into the mothers loft to see if there was anything stashed away, I came across this little number…..

This Jumpsuit by Pret A Porter

Complete with a gold sash belt, I could not believe my luck! I tried it on and it fitted perfectly. Mother was telling me all the stories about places it had been worn& how it had been styled in the past. I had it dry cleaned, and just added a chunky gold necklace and some gold bangles. I love the raglan sleeves and it had padded shoulders! I am just lucky that we must have been the same size around the same age.

The only thing I didn’t like about it was the draped open back. In the summer with a golden tan maybe, but not in the freezing cold weather we have had. So I compromised with a little orange cami underneath

I was really pleased with the look. Black and gold would not be my first choice of colour combinations, but it was just so eighties!…..

Do you have a passion for vintage finds? This isn’t the first vintage number Ive stolen from mothers loft. Where did you find yours? Do tell
XO Laurie

What a fantastic find for you! It looks to be in immaculate condition too. Although it's definitely got an 80's vibe, I would still wear it now. Great idea with the cami too, and all that gold is perfect.

Perfectly authentic for an '80s party! I like how you layered the cami with it, I'm not that comfortable with really open backs so that's my usual strategy as well.

I wish there were items my mom left!great find.I love the back but too would either look quite pale back there or do what did. Great job on this 80s look! Thankfully I think I burned all of my stirrup pants. Ha!
