Looking back past my god knows how many years I’ve been a follower of fashion, I don’t think I’ve ever known earrings to be such a huge trend item. I remember fazes of hoop earrings, although I don’t think they will ever date.
But at the moment they really are having their days of splendour in all shapes, sizes, materials and metals. I guess it all started off with the “Tassel Earrings” But late last year new trends appeared in the form of amazing geometric styles Some of these come with a short and a long earring the list of different styles and bright colours goes on.
Take one classic plain top of any kind and add a pair of on-trend earrings and the whole look is up-to-date-on-trend
I’ve steadily been collecting a few pairs of earrings myself. The tassel one’s I find hard to cope with. The length of my petite frame has them sashaying on my shoulders! I just trim them!
Tassels, single or multiple come in beautiful colours
So after the snow scuppered my photoshoot with my dearest last week, I thought I’d share some of the amazing styles that I’ve found on the high street of late. My wish list grows on! I will start off with my favourite Tassel variety. I prefer the short kind, but maybe I will be braver! There are some beauties out there!
There are some amazing geometric designs out there!
These earrings are a perfect item to update a look. A lot of these on-trend earrings are so purse friendly too. If your going out for say an evening and wearing a plain dress in any style, any of these earrings will give a new lease of life to that outfit and bring it up to date. The larger the better it seems and this is where I need to be braver, but looking through the glossies this is all it takes for a huge update.
As I’ve always stated. Buy the classics and bring your outfits to life with accessories. You can’t go wrong!
Asymmetrical are my favourites at the moment
I’m really keen to buy some asymmetrical earrings, and I don’t know why but this type takes me back to the “new Romantic” of many years ago! I just like this idea of adding one long and one short earring in your ears!
There is so much choice out there you are bound to find something! I bet we will be wearing odd earrings soon! it will be interesting to see if something like that happens! Anyway, I hope you have found some inspiration here.

Earrings really are having a moment right now. I love the tassel styles and will sometimes trim mine, too. With my pixie cut the really longs can be overwhelming. I am admiring your deep green tassels and enjoyed perusing all the fab styles you featured. Thanks for linking up with Fabulous Friday!

Oh wow some of these earrings are just lovely! I must admit, I can forget to put earrings in – in fact, jewellery in general and I must try and remember more!
I love earrings! I loved it when I worked daily and could coordinate my outfit and jewellery. I avoid dangly earrings at the moment as I’m worried about little ones grabbing them! #bloggersbest
Love the idea of trimming tassel earrings to length! Thanks for sharing with #PoCoLo
I really enjoy the asymmetrical style as well. It’s so interesting and unexpected!

I love those tassel earrings – so unusual! I usually wear studs but I think it might be time to branch out a bit more! #PoCoLo
I’ve only just started wearing earrings regularly again. I used to wear them so infrequently that the holes would almost close up. Now I wear more high necklines and have shorter hair I often wear big statement earrings instead of a necklace. I’ve accumulated lots in a short space of time. I love those yellow ones from Zara! Thanks for linking up!

I used to love wearing earrings but for some odd reason I stopped a while back. Seeing all these beauties has made me want to dig some of my old ones out again and play around
I love pretty earrings. And I have quite a few. But I mainly wear hoops because they are easy. Love the difference all of the color and shapes make.
Earrings can make a huge difference to an outfit. Sadly I don’t wear them as often as I’d like because my ears are very sensitive. #pocolo
I love earring but I hate that I can’t wear them. I love your picks and have always wanted to try out some hoop earrings #pocolo
I’ve noticed the popularity of earrings myself. In the past, I haven’t worn earrings much because my hair covers them up. But I’ve recently purchased a few new larger ones, two of which were the tassel type!
I love earrings, but always forget to change them! I’ve got a few different styles, but these are all very interesting. I was going to buy some tassel styles, but thought they would go out of fashion, as it seems they’re staying around a tad longer I will have to get me some! Thanks for sharing Laurie, I do hope you’re well. x Jacqui

I love earrings – I’ve collected so many pairs over the years! But I haven’t actually bought any of the tassels. I guess because they’re just about everywhere I got fed of seeing them lol! But I love wearing all other kinds. I’m sure I’ll come round to the tassels when they’re no longer ‘in’!!

I agree – the earrings are fabulous right now! I don’t wear longer ones very often because my hair hides them, but I’m loving all the new styles!
Love this post! I’m all about earrings… the bigger the better! 😀 After looking at all those images I’m desperate to go shopping. x
Ohh lovely choices, for me I prefer the hoopy type ones and not so keen on the tassels (they remind me of tie backs lol), you can totally carry them off though! Thanks for linking up #BloggersBests
I have seen these around, they look great Laurie. So on trend.
I need to start wearing earring again or mine will heal up 🙁 Thanks for sharing at The Wednesday Blog Hop 🙂
I have actually seen people wearing odd earrings! I do like the asymmetrical ones too. 🙂

I stopped wearing earrings years ago, so I would have to have my ears re-pierced. In a way, that’s a good thing, as once I’d start wearing them again, I wouldn’t be able to stop buying them, as I see so many wonderful and quirky styles around. I can never resist picking up vintage clip-on earrings when I find them at flea markets, but they can be really uncomfortable. Love those tassel earrings! xxx
I do love earrings. In many ways, they complete my look. Though I always tend to pick them for my mood more than my outfit. Thanks for sharing! Have a great week!
Earrings are my favourite accessory, but often difficult to see because my hair covers my ears. I might look for tassels now. You would not miss them.
Oh I think I’m a geometrical girl! There’s a couple I really love there. Thanks for the inso Laurie! x
I love earrings Laurie, you know. Hach these tassel earrings are great.

Fantastic tip! I have never thought of trimming my tassels earrings!😁😁😁
I love big long earrings! But I hate it when they are to heavy.
My stepmom trims her tassel earrings too—that’s so brilliant Laurie!!
And I think earrings are an easy way to add in a new trend or try out some fun styles!! And they don’t have to be expensive!! That’s the best thing!!

What a fabulous selection you have put together. The early 80’s were definitely full of interesting earrings. After reviewing these I realise I have some in my stash that are quite similar, especially of the geometrical design type. One pair, silver drop chains with a drop pearl, will be very on trend and I have actually kept it from the 80’s! Lise
So that’s what a fashionista does when she’s snow-bound, she gets clever with earrings! You’ve got some great ideas here. I haven’t got even one pair of tassel earrings but after this post who knows what’ll happen! Hugs, my pretty, x.
