Bonmarche – Embracing The Aztec Trend

Wanting to show off my Autumn/Winter buys to you all is proving something of a challenge in 30 degree’s heat !

This is what we bloggers do to show what’s in store for the coming season for you, and the way our weather is at the moment, Winter clothing is not needed at all.

But as you know our UK weather can change like the flick of a switch. We need to be prepared …

When Bonmarche asked me if I would like to choose something from their new Autumn range, I already knew what I was going to choose as I had been drawn back  to this jacket online a few times. But in their latest magazine, it’s worn in a completely different way with a jumper and skirt.

I like the shape of the jacket, finishing just below the waist for definition and the three-quarter length sleeves, it’s an easy to wear piece.

If you have read my last post about the pantone colours for winter 2016 you will see that there are many of those colours incorporated in the jacket. Warm Taupe, Potters clay and of course classic Black. So although I am wearing the jacket today for a more summery look, this jacket is at the ready for our new on-trend colours.

I have paired the Aztec Trophy Jacket with my cream lightweight flares and an Orange camisole. A trip down to Leigh on Sea in Essex, while visiting the family, this is one of my favourite places to be on a hot sunny day. You can catch some amazing views over the Thames.

There is a nice seaside breeze, but I am feeling like I’m going to combust !

A closer look at the jacket shows that it’s collar free, it will be easy to add anything to it when it’s cold. A polo neck like this one with  these Black skinny jeans

What do you think of the seventies Aztec trend ? Do you like all the Boho inspired pieces that are hitting the shops ? Do let me know in the comments below. Now I’m off for that stroll, and to cool down!

You've given boho a classically elegant appeal! The jacket is gorgeous! The way you've styled it is so creative and original–I love it! What strikes me about the jacket is how, like you mentioned in your post, you were wearing it during a warmer time of year–and it fits right in to that season! But I can also see it paired up as you suggested, with black or denim and maybe a scarf, for a colder season. It's a super versatile piece!

It's a great shaped jacket, I'm not usually drawn to aztec patterns but it looks great here. Thanks for sharing with #PoCoLo

I love the print and the pop of color you added keeps the look of the outfit very contemporary and modern. I have a few aztec print items in my wardrobe and I really like the energy they add to an outfit. Thank you for adding your post to my Fine-Whatever link up.

What a lovely jacket! It really suits you.

I completely sympathise with your sweltering weather; when I shot my latest post it was 28 degrees. I wore a heavy wool pea coat and over the knee boots. I couldn't wait to change clothes!

Laurie, what we bloggers have to go thru to get a post out! At least you look gorgeous doing the work. That is a really fantastic jacket and paired with the white pants it really shines with all those pretty colors really showing thru. Of course it will carry you thru to the winter when paired with black pants too, but I am really loving it with the white.

This looks fantastic on you! I love the collarless feature, you could wear a turtleneck or a round neck top with a scarf, so many great tops or sweaters would work with this. I love the aztec pattern, it's not too over the top and the size of the repeat is great. I really like the cream pants with it too, you will be able to switch this up in many ways and it will give a lot of life to anything you pair it with. LOL Go enjoy the weather!

The white trousers and orange cami are perfect for showcasing the jacket, Laurie. And it's a great length. I do like a cropped jacket every now and then!
I'm not a huge boho fan but I do love your styling of the jacket and the print is gorgeous.

Stunning, I love this jacket – seen something similar in Debenhams, only slightly longer. Thinking it would be fab over jeans when the cooler weather finally arrives. I'll do a post if I get it. Hope you had a fab time in Essex with the family.x

I can remember wearing the Aztec trend when I was in Junior High and High School. It is always a pretty pattern and with the color variations can be worn with so many pieces. This will be a great jacket for cooler fall days. Love your look and your style your accessories beautifully. – Amy
