Luxury Water

Do you ever really think about how hard water affects our skin?

It has long been drummed into us how important it is to drink as much water as possible for our health and our looks. I drink Tea, but I also drink my fair share of water. Bottled water it must be !
I do notice a difference when I don’t have my quota. Do you follow this rule ?

I was pleased to be approached by BWT UK LTD for a review and asked what I thought of the idea of having soft water on tap.

When we shower or take a bath, do we think of the water  we’re using? I tend to worry about how hot or cold it is and what products I’m going to use! But thinking about it, and seeing what hard water does to my kettle, it does get me thinking. Would I have a younger looking skin if I had used soft water?.

The product that Luxury Water provides is easily installed to your incoming water and hey presto! Soft water on tap.

When you think about the huge difference this can make. It’s got to better to bath or shower in something that doesn’t contain harsh chemicals . Imagine how much better this would be for our hair? Very tempting !

Then of course there’s the money saving side to the whole Idea. No more washing machines only lasting a couple of years, or dishwashers for that matter. No more limescale build up in your rads and your bathroom will be sparkling like it should. No more detergents to keep it all shiny. According to the Luxury Water site, you can cut down on so much. I would be happy not to have to constantly replace my kettle or have stacks of bottled water everywhere!
Take a look at the site. There are so many reasons to have one of these gadgets. If your interested. you can pop over Here to find out more and if there is an installer in your area.
Let me know what you think of the idea of soft water ? Especially if you have it on tap at home. I’m so tempted .

You're right I've never thought about it but seeing inside the kettle now does make me think! Curious to know what you decide to do. Thanks for sharing with #PoCoLo x

In Arizona where we lived before, the water was extremely hard and we had a water softener to deal with it. In Seattle, our city water is very soft, so we don't need any kind of softener there. I was always curious if using soft water made a difference–to appliances, pipes, and my hair and skin.

For the last several weeks we have been in Arizona again, but this time without a water softener. I can honestly tell you that I *do* see a difference in my hair. I have to use more shampoo and conditioner and, even then, the frizz I'm combating is a bit harrowing! The other thing about this area that may be contributing to all this is how dry the air is, so I would be curious what hard water in your wetter climate would be like compared to soft.

All that said, I enjoyed reading your post and would be curious to hear more if you decide to try it out!

    Hugs,
    Sherry

I'm sure a soft water filter would be great, especially when it comes to drinking water.

I'm funny with our tap water and we use a filter even for hot drinks so this does sound like a great idea. I get quite dry skin sometimes so anything to help! Thanks for sharing with #bestandworst xx

I've never really thought about it before, but this makes a lot of sense! I don't drink our tap water because it doesn't taste very nice, which now makes me wonder how good it is for my skin – probably not very! #Bestandworst

So many people around here have water softeners so our entire house has soft water. I really notice a difference in my hair and skin when I travel. Soft water is amazing!

I've lived in a hard water county all my life, so I don't often think about it, but I must admit I do enjoy my showers and baths more when I'm away in a soft water area. May have to consider this at some point #DreamTeam x

I keep meaning to drink more water but I completely forget till I get a headache 🙁 This sounds like a great idea 🙂 Thanks for sharing at Creative Mondays Laurie, have a lovely week.

Ditto on that Claire. I find it hard to keep up to the recommended quota, but it's tea that gives me a headache if I don't have my quota of that! x

I've often wondered about this because London water is hard and full of limescale and when I travel my hair is often a lot softer in different water. I try to drink a lot of water and do notice a big difference if I don't, mainly a drop in energy levels.

The proof is in the pudding Gail. If the hair is softer this must be better for our skin to. x

I remember when I lived in Denmark my hair was always noticeably softer whilst I was back home for holidays. So definitely worth reading more about this innovation. Thanks, Laurie.

    • December 12, 2016 / 8:53 pm

Your very welcome Mary. I'm wondering now if this has helped my brother keep his youthful look! He lives in Denmark !

    • December 15, 2016 / 10:24 am

Well actually I meant to say that the Guernsey water improved my hair, the Danish water was harder – I think your bro must be enjoying living in such a super country and that's coming through as a youthful look! I get an annual holiday fix there nowadays but that's not enough to keep this old girl looking youthful :-(.

Laurie, I know some neighborhoods around us have very hard water, but we don't seem to have as many problems with our city water. I guess I've never really thought about what a difference it could make for bathing, especially on our skin and hair. Thanks for sharing the info. – Amy
