FandF My First Autumn Buy

Sharing with you today my first autumn buy. It’s that time of year when you don’t need a coat, and you can’t get away with your flimsy summer item anymore this summer.

I haven’t bought many winter clothes this year, I find it difficult to shop for winter fashion at this time of year. Trying winter woollies on in 25 degree’s is just not my cup of tea.

This is my first purchase. I came across this a few weeks ago and thought what a handy transitional item it would be. Something that will keep the chill away, that’s not too overbearing for our topsy-turvy UK weather.

This knitted waistcoat from F&F is super soft, in my favourite colour Beige here But they also stock it in Navy here Or a Grey Marl here At a super bargain price of £16.00  I couldn’t resist

I love pairing all my creams and beiges together. Classic, just add whatever colour accessories you wish. Plus these basic colours will pair up with most other colours in your wardrobe

I’ve teamed my look today with Tan and Gold . The Knecklace I have had for years, large amber beads, and the bag is from Yosa  Do pop over to the Instagram page for some gorgeous accessories. And to finish my monochromatic look, my shoes from pretty small shoes You can read about these in a previous post here

A broken down car left me having a cuppa in my friend’s garden today. Not being able to get anywhere and my garden being still under construction (It’s taking forever!) I let her click the camera. Then I had to explain the whole concept of blogging. She was surprised at how much work goes into it. To all you bloggers out there,I would love to know how you divide your time ? Please do let me know in the comments.
Have you got all your wardrobe ready for winter ? or are you way behind like me? Next post will be a complete turnaround. I will be talking about all the new “in trend” colours to update your wardrobe.
Have a great week everyone
XO Laurie

That's a great item. I've done some cooler weather shopping and picked up some classic short-sleeved jumpers in Marks which I'm hoping I'll get lots of use from in the next month or so before adding a cardy. Thanks for sharing with #PoCoLo

A long knitted vest is a great transition weather piece and yours is very nice. I love the neutral color and how you've put it together with the rest of your wardrobe. Thank you for adding your post to my Fine-Whatever link up.

I love your sweater vest! I hope your car gets fixed quickly! It is a lot of work to blog! I have learned to be very organized. I use a planner and write what I need to do and divide my time during the day. Mornings are for linkups, afternoons for comments and I write my posts at night! I do love blogging though and it's my outlet and I really do love it so I don't mind the time I do blog!

Love your outfit, Laurie, and that knitted waistcoat is such a beauty!!
I'm sorry I can't share any magic tricks for time management in blogging, I feel behind everything lately.

Hi Laurie, this look suits you so well. Although I'm not a fan of beige myself, you seem to carry it off without looking in the least frumpy. I've had a bit of a shopping spree this weekend so am starting to collect some A/W items ready to build up my not-so-capsule-wardrobe. Keep doing what you're doing Laurie, you do it with real panache!

You look so chic and stylish…as always! The knitted waistcoat is such a bargain, and very handy for the transition to autumn. I love that bag too. I'm glad you mentioned how much time goes into blogging – I've been so behind with everything due to going away and being unexpectedly busy at work…I thought it was just me not being organised but it is incredibly time-consuming at the best of times!

I love that Laurie and I do like a bit of F&F. The beige is a lovely colour on you. Can't believe the shops are full of Autumn clothes yet it is still so hot. All a bit confusing. In answer to your question about how time is spent blogging. I am about to do a little weekly organiser as I find that it is very easy to spend time jumping from one thing to another. I'll let you know how it goes. Nicky #PoCoLo

I love the look of a long vest and the all neutrals paired together. You look so chic and sophisticated. And I really love the photo of you sipping your tea! Just gorgeous!

This is a great buy, will take you through 3 seasons. You can top it with a wrap if you need more warmth, or wear it in the fall and spring to ward off the slight chill. Love the pieces that you added, it looks classic but fun.

How to divide time? LOL Is that a real thing in blogging? I admire fashion bloggers for the time it has to take to put together an outfit, find a place to shoot, pose and then edit. Your images are great and I love your taste in fashion.

    • September 11, 2016 / 10:49 pm

Thank you so much Nikki. That is a lovely compliment. What you say is true, there is no time in blogging. You have to love it to do it. I do love it, I think it's addictive! xx

Great colours on your Laurie and perfect for transitional dressing. Topsy turvy weather is definitely what it is at the moment! Hot last week and grey and rain today.
We must be twins as only on Friday did a buy a long line knitted waistcoat but in graduated shades of grey to black, and it even had pockets!
Don't mention about finding time for blogging with me! I'm all over the shop at the moment what with my Dad's health and am way behind in every area of blogging – hey ho. It always takes much longer than you think BUT we soldier on!

I like the beige and creme colors together with the wrap. And those shoes are lovely with the outfit. Sorry your car broke down, but it gave you a chance to visit with your friend and enjoy a cup of tea! Blogging takes a lot of time! I still work full time, so I grab minutes as I can to snap photos, watermark them, upload to my computer and then write the post. I enjoy blogging so much. But, it is quite time consuming. I just fit it in between laundry, dishes, cooking, etc.

I really like the cream and tan, tone on tone look. It's a look I can't carry off, but you do it very well. Handy to have a friend make you a nice cuppa when the car breaks down… wish I'd had a friend like that last week when the black smoke started rolling out of my car:)

Looking good as always Laurie! I think I might have to get a navy coloured waistcoat, it looks so easy to wear. 🙂
As for blogging, I tend to save all my blog related stuff for when the boys are at school. It's harder in the holidays and I try to balance it as well as I can (which doesn't always go to plan). #wednesdaybloghop

Thank you Morgan. I think this will look great on you. It's good in the Navy colour too.I really need to knuckle down and find the right balance where bloggings concerned x

I love this neutral outfit, Laurie! What a great buy the knitted waistcoat was!

I haven't gotten anything for fall yet; it stays quite warm during the day here in California for many more weeks, and summer clothes still work with just a thin cardigan on top (which I have plenty of). I did order some floral pants on clearance that I plan on transitioning into fall… I also ordered some gold flats that were majorly reduced, and I can see myself wearing them a lot (fingers crossed that they are comfortable…). Finally, I had to order two scarves yesterday (I have MANY scarves already…) because they were just so pretty (and reduced several times)… 🙂

And, yes, blogging is VERY time-consuming. I always feel "behind" in everything…

Thank you Andrea.I'm glad i'm not the only one always behind ! I really need to get myself sorted out time wise. I get a little behind, and it takes every little bit of spare time I have. And lucky you that your weather is still great for so much longer x

On point as usual Laurie, perfect in fact.. I've not seen this in my local branch, must have escaped me! I have, however, seen one similar with sleeves which I quite like. Laurie I don't work other than help out in my husbands work, and still find it difficult to find the time to blog! It is so time consuming, researching, blogging and following up other blogs, its easy to spend a few hours reading other blogs too. I'm looking forward to Autumn, but I also agree it's hard when it's so hot here! Chat soon Jacqui

    • September 7, 2016 / 7:58 pm

Thank you Jacqui. I keep trying to find the right balance where bloggings concerned. But I haven't found it yet! I feel like I needmy own set of rules! As for heat. Well! the other day I was wearing the Knitted waistcoat, today I wished I wasn't wearing anything xx

  28. September 6, 2016 / 8:06 pm

Beautiful look! And what a bargain. I love the color of the bag too.

  29. September 6, 2016 / 5:46 pm

Laurie, I am so glad you mentioned the time and work it takes to be a blogger. I feel like I am constantly behind. I work 16 to 20 hours a week outside the home, pick up my grandson and watch him after school until his mom get's off work at 5 and then try to spend a little time with my husband in the evening….where is the time for blogging? Not to mention doing laundry, cleaning the bathrooms once in a while, etc. So I completely understand the dilemma. You outfit is lovely and that sweater coat/vest is a great transitional piece. I love the length and the neutral color. You'll be able to wear it with so many outfits and accessories. Love the monochromatic look. Great fall look. Thanks for sharing. – Amy

Thank you Amy. I seem to have hit on a bit of a subject here regarding finding the time to blog.At least I know I'm not on my own. I don't even work that many hours or have my grandchild every day, so my hat goes off to you Amy for doing as well as you are ! x
