Bonmarche – Casual To Glam

Reading through the comments last week, someone asked, “how do you look so glamorous all the time?”

The answer to that is I’m not! I like to be casual just like the rest of us ! (I’m still sitting here in my dressing gown as I write this)
So I thought I would add this post and show you how I switch an outfit around . A walk in the country park, and then on to meet friends later for lunch.

I’m in Watt Tyler country park today in Essex visiting family. The little houses that stand here are dated back to the seventeenth century and the park is steeped in history. There’s a great adventure park here for children and I used to bring my children here and now my grandchildren too.

So I’m sharing with you the casual look today that I was gifted from Bonmarche Black jeans and a cowl neck jumper in a Toffee colour (here) The jeans are straight cut – not skinny (here)  They are on special offer at the mo, so do take a look. The whole outfit is comfortable the jeans are soft, not stiff but they hold your tummy in like a treat!

How cute are the little cottages? Some are huge and some are not much bigger than your garden shed!
Getting on to how I switched into something more suitable for meeting the girls….

I swapped the jeans for a faux leather pencil skirt and heels, then just added some accessories. If I knew it was going to be so cold I would have packed the jacket that will go perfectly with this jumper (here)

The broach added on to the cowl neck jumper really jazzes the outfit up. As does the clutch bag rather than a shoulder bag. See it’s that simple to glam up an everyday jumper !

Can I just say a huge thank you to all the lovely comments that I received lately? I value them greatly .
Xo Laurie

You are elegant dressed up or casual, Ms Laurie! I love how you styled both looks, but especially the little detail of the brooch on the second look. Also, the location for your casual shoot sounds so interesting! How cool to visit a place "stuck in time." (You know how I love history!!)

There is no way you can be a grandmother! You look way too posh to be a grandma. I guess we will have to let go of the steotypes! Love the red on you Laurie, I think blondes look great in red.

You do both glamour and casual so well Laurie. Even when casual you look so polished and that's to be admired. I love the colour of that sweater on you – autumn tones are clearly complimentary for your hair and skin tone. Another lovely post x

Who would have thought that Bon Marche clothes could look so stylish. I am going to have to look at them with new eyes now.
My hubby does a lot of work in Essex, maybe I will go with him one day and visit the super places you have

You have such great style, even in jeans you look put together and classy. I really like the way you switched up the outfit for evening, love the skirt and that broach really catches my eye.

You do look very glamorous! Your clothes are gorgeous, but so is the rest of your style – hair, make-up, accessories. I think that makes all the difference. How lovely to share your natural style and ideas with others. I appreciate the inspiration! #BestandWorst

Although from a sartorial perspective, you do indeed look glamorous all the time, I personally think it's largely due to the vibe you exude. Your personality. It's very poised and collected and, well, posh 🙂

Laurie, it is understandable why your followers see you as glamorous…you are! I love this toffee color on you and it looks lovely paired with the black jeans and the faux leather pencil skirt. That brooch is the perfect accessory. Simple but lovely. – Amy
